Flying Plates

I am coming up on the time I need to shoot a scene which involves several levitated kitchen items beating a guy to death. I have the prefired ceramics and a light pan. Just wondering if anyone had any tips regarding this type of thing besides threads and pulleys. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Hey there.

This scene would have to be built in the editing. Have the guy padded up and steal as many little shots as you can. Keep it tight on the actor. Let the sound effect do the work. Let all most of the action be in the viewers mind rather than right there in front of our eyes. If you you do want to have nice wide shots of these things flying about you could go the CG route. Head over to www.3dsource.net and join the forum. Those guys will be able to help you out.

I would do this scene with a mixture of everything, some CG, some on threads, some just chcucked at the padded up actor.

Storyboard your scene work out exactly the shots you going to need then work out the best way to shoot each shot. Take you time and be creative about it and you could have a cool scene.

Also if I remember correctly the Exorcist dvd has some tips on how they did this kind of thing.
